Babauta declares gubernatorial candidacy with Torres

Former governor Juan N. Babauta declared his candidacy for governor late Monday morning with former senator Juan S. Torres as his running mate. The news briefing is still ongoing.
They are running as independents after the Republican Party declined a primary, citing a decision as early as September to endorse Gov. Eloy S. Inos and Senate President Ralph Torres (R-Saipan).

There are now four gubernatorial tandems for the November race.
