BAB Restaurant launches CupBAB

BAB Korean Restaurant reopened last week with a new drive-thru counter and innovative rice topping offerings it cleverly calls CupBAB.
Restaurant manager Lotesa Ferrer said that BAB Korean Restaurant closed just a little more than a month after it opened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That gave them a chance to brainstorm the kind of food they could serve once they reopen.
“We came up with the idea of rice toppings in a cup—Korean food in a cup. Ours is the first-ever Korean restaurant with drive-thru on Saipan and since ‘bab’ is rice in Korean, we called our new product CupBAB,” she said.

Their take-out menu currently has 10 items ranging in price from the $3 mandoo (4 piece soft-fried dumplings) to the $7 combo bab (beef, mandoo, noodles, tofu, lettuce, and rice). In between, customers can enjoy the $5 original bab (pork, noodles, lettuce, rice) or the $6 squid bab (spicy squid, noodles, tofu, lettuce, rice). Those who want it hot can also sample their $5 volcano bab (spicy pork, noodles, lettuce, rice).
Signature drinks like sujeonggwa (Korean cinnamon ginger tea) and Hawaiian iced tea are also available for take-out.
Aside from the new CupBAB menu, BAB Korean Restaurant is still offering take-out platters from their original menu.
“Please try and visit us. The taste and services are still the same but this time in a cheaper and faster way to serve you via our drive-thru window,” said Ferrer.

Starting last Monday, BAB Korean Restaurant also started opening for morning take-out. Ferrer said they also deliver for free for a minimum of five orders.
“As a bonus, if a customer has a lot of orders for delivery we give two complimentary items for trial,” she said.
BAB Korean Restaurant is located at the former Caesar’s Sauna property along Beach Road in Garapan. It is open 6am-10am and 11:30am-5pm. For more information or for pre-orders, call 233-4222 or 483-5500.
