After completing a year of preparatory school, Freddy Hofschneider III from Tinian, a 2008 Tinian High School graduate, successfully received his appointment to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on May 16, 2009 at the New Mexico Military Institute located in Roswell, New Mexico.

Hofschneider is the first from the CNMI to have attended the New Mexico Military Institute and was honored to provide the educational institution with the CNMI flag, which now joins the lines of flags representing the nationalities of the academy’s students.

He made the Dean’s List for both semesters and was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Leadership.

Hofschneider, the son of Freddy Jr. and Rinenta Hofschneider of Tinian, will be reporting to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, located in New London, Connecticut on June 29, 2009. (PR)
