Pesticide safety workshop

The Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research, Extension and Education Service will be conducting a commercial certified pesticide safety and education program training (structural category) on Saipan on May 26-29, 2009. It will be held at the Saipan Grand Hotel from 8am to 4pm.

The structural category pesticide workshop is primarily intended for commercial pest control applicators using restricted use pesticides. This training will focus on the structural building and pests such as termites, roaches, ants and rodents.

This workshop will focus on the principles of pest control, insect biology, environmental concerns, loading and handing, labeling, math calibration, and CNMI Division of Environmental Quality regulations.

Participants must attend the complete training course, pass the pesticide safety examination, and have a Pesticide Safety and Education Program license in order to purchase and use the restricted use pesticides.

DEQ and NMC-CREES will sponsor this workshop.
