Burglar gets 2 years in prison
The Superior Court has slapped a two-year prison term on a man who was caught in the act of burglarizing a house in Koblerville.
Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona sentenced George Aldan Aguon to five years in prison, all suspended except for 24 months, for burglary.
Following a plea agreement, Manglona gave the 55-year-old Aguon credit for the time he has already served in jail since May 23, 2008.
Aguon is expected to complete his prison term at the Department of Corrections on May 23, 2010.
Aguon will be placed on three years probation, be required to perform 100 hours of community service, and pay a $100 fine.
Aguon signed a plea agreement with the government. He pleaded guilty to burglary.
In return, government lawyer Joseph Przyuski agreed to dismiss the theft charge. He also agreed to withdraw the government’s motion to revoke the defendant’s probation.
On May 23, 2008, at 12:25pm, police received a report of an ongoing burglary and theft incident at the residence of Won Hee Oh Kang in Koblerville.
Kang’s local neighbors helped police in arresting Aguon, who came out from the house’s back door.
Aguon was reportedly found in possession of several stolen items.
