Intimidation? Really?
All due respect to former representative Janet Maratita but didn’t anyone tell you that you were in a federal court in a hearing against the second highest official in the Commonwealth? Didn’t anyone tell you that the trial was serious, sensitive, and critical, Mrs. Maratita? Didn’t anyone ever tell you that it was a case involving conspiracy to commit offenses against the U.S., wire fraud, theft concerning a program receiving federal funds, and bribery? Didn’t anyone ever tell you to sit up straight and not to chew gum in any court, both local and federal court? Yes, of course, we were all taught and reminded constantly throughout our school years such discipline as how and when to sit up straight and not to chew gum while class is in session. If you don’t know, the courts also does not allow sunglasses, hats, caps, putting on your makeup, and being under the influence of narcotics or alcohol. This also applies to small claims courts.
The answer is simple: One must respect our judicial systems both local and federal, for without them we will have martial law.
It’s unfortunate you were intimidated by the serious-looking U.S. federal marshals who are trained to do their jobs without a glitch, and it seems like your charm did not faze them at all, Mrs. Maratita. I believe that if I were in Mr. Tony Guerrero’s shoes, I would want the U.S government right next to me and if I had actually made it the court hearings, I can guarantee you that I will be sitting next or with the government, Mrs. Maratita.
Now the biggest question is motive. What drove you to file such a juvenile complaint? Politics, lack of attention or intentionally creating attention? Which one is it, Mrs. Maratita? Let me guess. It’s election year and most likely you’re planning to run for office and you need the votes, right? Truly, this complaint is a sign of desperation and a lame excuse coming from a former House Representative who is emotionally blind and ignorant that the people of the Commonwealth, the consumers, have all suffered enough from such illegal acts in our homeland. The case of Pelisamen is beyond comparison to that of the former Lt. Governor’s, simply because Pelisamen is an ordinary citizen and Timothy Villagomez was the second highest elected official, a lieutenant governor serving the people of the Commonwealth in public office.
Due process and justice have been served.
