Police arrested last week a teenager who was allegedly selling methamphetamine or “ice” on Saipan.

Megan P. Masga, 19, was arrested Thursday morning for illegal possession of controlled substance and trafficking.

Masga was taken to the Superior Court yesterday for a bail hearing. Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo imposed a $3,000 cash plus $27,000 unsecured bond for her temporary liberty.

The court’s original bail was $30,000 cash. Preliminary hearing was set for May 19.

In his report, Detective Steven C. Castro said that members of the Department of Public Safety’s Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of the DPS Criminal Investigation Bureau, conducted a monitored purchase of “ice” from Masga on April 5.

Using a “cooperating defendant,” the officers managed to purchase $150 worth of “ice” from Masga in San Antonio, Castro said.

On April 26, members of the DPS Local Drug Task Force conducted another buy operation against Masga, during which Masga allegedly handed “ice” to a “cooperating source.”
