MHS Class of ’70 prepares for 40th reunion
The first graduates of Marianas High School, the Class of 1970, is gearing up for its 40th class reunion next year, 2010. As a kicker, the group will be having a potluck picnic for all classmates, on Sunday, May 24, at the Carolinian Utt from 9:30am until 4:30pm.
“We welcome all classmates and families to join us as we embark toward the planning of another milestone in our lifetime,” the class said in a statement.
A meeting for the last-minute preparation of the picnic will be held on May 14, Thursday, at the Marianas High School conference room, Building H. at 6pm. All classmates are encouraged to attend this very important gathering.
Some of the plans for the 40th year reunion include possible participation in the Marianas High School graduation ceremony, a Eucharistic celebration honoring those who have passed away, a banquet, and also an off-island trip to Palau or other destinations.
The class recently held its election of officers and John “Pakito” Camacho was elected chairman. The other officers are John Maglona Sablan, vice chairman; Tony “Potu” Cabrera, secretary; Laura “Laling” Sablan, treasurer; and Maggie “Kan” Camacho, public information officer.
