Computer class alumni volunteer at youth center
Members of the Saipan Building and Fixing Computers Users Group recently rendered community service at the Tanapag Youth Center, an office under the supervision of the Department of Youth Services.at the Tanapag Youth Center.
During this community service, the group was able to repair five computers and fix some immediate problems such as anti-virus, battery backup issues, network and Internet connections, router connections, files and printer sharing and upgrading the speed of their Internet. The group was also able to delete unused profiles, create new users, etc.
The group and its members have been very active in doing community service around Saipan.
On May 2, group members also provided free services to the Philippine Overseas Labor Office by checking the condition of the office’s computers and fixing all problems found in preparation for the opening of the Basic Computer Operations 2 class on May 24, 2009.
For 2009, the newly elected SBFCUG officers are Edmin Elayda, chairman; Angel Deliva, vice chairman; Ana Marie Ocon, secretary; Amado Tumbaga, assistant secretary; Olive Yana, treasurer; Manny Cisnero, assistant treasurer; Amor Zapata, auditor; Rolando Vicencio, webpage administrator.
All SBFCUG officers and members are graduates of the Building and Fixing Computers Course being offered at the Filipino Workers Resource Center-POLO, Philippine Consulate General.
SBFCUG founder Marcelo V. Masilungan and Jousel Regilme, both volunteer-instructors at the FWRC-POLO, act as advisers to the group.[B][I] (PR)[/I][/B]
