The who’s who in seven golf associations in the Commonwealth will test each other’s might next weekend with the staging of the CNMI Inter-Club Golf Tournament at Coral Ocean Point.

Jess Wabol, tournament director for Refaluwasch Golf Association and one of the organizers of the May 16 tournament, said this is the first time that they are bringing together golfers from all clubs in the CNMI.

“We are encouraging members of Fil-Taga, Saipan Golf Association, Korean Golf Association, Exclusive, Amigos, and Wait A Minute to come and join the tournament next weekend. We are very excited to have this event, as we are expecting a very competitive tournament,” Wabol said.

The one-day event at the Agingan Point course has a $30 entrance fee, exclusive of greens fee and it will have a double-peoria format.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the Top 5 finishers, while there will be gift items for closest to the pin winners on holes No. 7, 12, 14. A cash prize awaits the winner of closest to the pin shot on hole No. 3.

Participants are allowed to use mulligans, but they can only buy two. Mulligans cost $5 each.

Meanwhile, Wabol is calling on RGA members to join this Saturday’s 7th Annual Mount Carmel School Golf Tournament on the west course of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

Wabol said scores of RGA members in the MCS event will be used for the RGA May Ace qualifier.

He added RGA members who will be playing in the MCS golf tournament will only pay an extra $20 (for RGA May qualifier fee), instead of the usual qualifier fee of $30.
