Thousands of dollars are up for grabs as local elementary schools prepare to compete in the Fourth Rotary Club of Saipan’s Parade of Books.

The event is scheduled for May 9, 2009, at the Marianas High School gymnasium at 2pm and is open to all public and private schools.

Through the Parade of Books, school children have the opportunity to come together, get dressed in costume, and play the magical characters they read about. The Rotary encourages all students to continue to read, imagine and learn all about the great wide world we live in.

The Parade of Books is a Rotary children’s event aimed at promoting literacy in schools and in the home.

Rotary Club president Ben Babauta said, “Together with our SkyTeam partner Northwest Airlines/Delta we look forward to another exciting event.” (PR)
