NMC IT staff completes FCC license test prep training
Staff members of the Northern Marianas College’s Information Technology Department recently completed test preparation training for the Federal Communication Commission license test.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent United States government agency responsible for regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable.
”The FCC license testing preparation training is a very important component for the IT personnel because it will enable them to maintain and operate the antenna sites of NMC,” said IT Director Adrian Atalig.
“With the FCC license, the IT staff will be able to inspect, test the radio equipments and other devices that are being used for the point-to-point wireless system,” Atalig added.
Atalig also reported that the College is currently working on connecting the three NMC campus sites, as well as expanding administrative capacities and enhancing technology services for the campus community. The IT department is continuing its efforts to upgrade and implement various projects that make the College’s network faster, more stable, and increasingly more efficient.
The training sessions were facilitated by L & K Communications owner and communications expert, John Limtiaco, and took place in the IT conference room on the NMC campus from April 24-27, 2009. [B][I](NMC)
