MP United won two U13 games in the boys division, while Paire FC took the other one in Week 4 (April 25) of the 2009 NMIFA Spring Youth Football League.

MPU-2 gave the club its first win of the day after slipping past Tan Holdings FC, 3-2.

Tan Holdings drew first blood on Alex Limes’ goal in the 12th minute. Limes made his second goal in the 38th minute.

But MPU-2 countered with two goals from Daniel Lim and one from Jake Lee to escape with a win.

According to MPU’s Sue Knecht, after Limes scored twice, MPU went back to play tough defense and held its ground until the final whistle. There were also great saves from Quintin Ramsey and outstanding defense from center defender Kennedy Izuka.

Dakota Hall made the first goal of the game in the ninth minute and added one more in the 35th minute. Jordan Bucher broke into the scoreboard with his goal in the 43rd minute.

Paire FC prevented MPU from sweeping all three boys U13 games after nailing a 4-1 win against MPU-3.

MPU’s Jehn Joyner came out with a nice corner kick, paving the way for a goal from Allen Cepeda, a few minutes before the first half ended.

But that was the only time MPU scored, as Paire strikers ran the show in the succeeding minutes.

Taiga Sakai tied the game after around 10 minutes in the second half. Hunter Jewell gave Paire the lead with his go-ahead goal, while Billy Hanson made two goals to cap the win.
