Jets’ Lizama leads Majors in batting
Jose Lizama Jr. regained the lead in batting average in the Majors Division of the 2009 Saipan Little League based on the latest individual statistics.
The Jets all-around player averaged .538 by hitting 14-for-26 at bat.
Included in the Top 15 are players with 20 or more at bats.
The Braves’ Frankie Lieto and Ol’Aces’ Jeremy Lizama are tied with a .524 clip (11-for-21).
Another Braves batter, Ian Rogolifoi, is fourth with his .522 average (12-for-23) and in fifth is Raymond Saralu of the Hustlers with a .500 norm (12-for-24).
Completing the list are Twins’ Darion Jones (.478), Jets’ Franko Nakamura (.458), Dragons’ Jonathan Cabrera (.455), Hustlers’ Kelvin DL Guerrero (.450), Shell’s Philip Sablan (.450), Little Lions’ Catalina Dela Cruz (.450), Braves’ Roy Tudela (.450), Hustlers’ Khobby Kaipat (.444), Enforcers’ Cedric Camacho (.435), and Survivors’ Caleb Takao (.429).
Three players are tied in most runs scored with 15—the Hustlers’ Saralu, Little Lions’ Justin Santos, and the Jets’ Lizama.
The Hustlers’ Kaipat has the most doubles with five, while the Survivors’ Takao and Twins M.J. Sakisat have three triples each.
Dragons’ Cabrera is the current homerun leader with five, while Ol’Aces’ Lizama has 14 RBIs.
Lizama is also the current leader in pitching with a 0.23 ERA as he only gave up one earned run in 26.2 innings he pitched, along with 65 strikeouts.
The Jets’ Lizama is running second in pitching with 0.40, while the Hustlers Saralu is third (0.67).
Other ERA leaders are Survivors’ Gayvan Uchao (1.13), Takao (1.22), Cabrera (1.23), M.J. Aldan (1.42), Red Sox’s Keene Guerrero (1.59), Jets’ Jhace Palacios (2.21), and Kaipat (2.25).
In strikeouts, Cabrera is second with 55 and Cabrera is third with 54.
Rounding out the list are Justin Reyes, Enforcers (54), Nathan Camacho, Dragons (44), Guerrero (41), Takao (36), Aldan (34), Saralu (32), Sakisat (31), Lizama Jr. (26). and Palacios (260).
Ol’Aces is currently on top of the team standings with a clean 8-0 record, followed by the Jets at 7-1 and Hustlers at 7-2.
