In observation of May Tourism Month and to prepare for visitors during the Asian Golden Week holiday, tourism leaders are inviting community members to join them in getting the main tourist district of Garapan sparkling clean next week.

Tourism Industry Cleanup Day will be held Tuesday, April 28, in the main tourist district of Garapan. The trash cleanup will begin at 6am at the parking lot of American Memorial Park.

“We welcome all volunteers to join us in helping to maintain our reputation as a clean and healthy vacation destination,” said Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Perry Tenorio. “We especially want to make a good impression in our main tourist district of Garapan.”

The first 100 volunteers will receive a free Tourism Month t-shirt. For more information, contact MVA at 1.670.663.3200 or mva@mymarianas.com.

MVA is co-sponsoring the cleanup with Japan Saipan Travel Association and Korean Travel Association of Saipan. (MVA)
