[/B] The Northern Marianas College Charter Day Committee is inviting different agencies, businesses, clubs, and other civic organizations to participate in the upcoming Charter Day celebration. Organizations may purchase booth space for the following categories: food/drink, specialty drinks (e.g. coffee coolers or pearl shakes), games booths, and retail (arts and crafts, toys, etc). The deadline to submit applications for booth spaces is on April 24, 2009. Booth space is limited, so applications should be submitted as soon as possible.
The Charter Day Celebration will be held on May 8, 2009 at the As Terlaje Campus from 4pm to 11pm. The event is one of NMC’s largest and most-attended events. This year, the celebration will showcase a broad range of entertainment, including a variety of live band performances, the highly anticipated “Marianas Idol Contest,” and cultural dance presentations.
You may reserve booth space by paying the $100 one-time fee (which covers the tents booth and access to 110v electricity outlets). The Northern Marianas College Community Development Institute, a program under the Division of Community Programs and Services, is inviting individuals interested in advancing their education to consider the master’s degree in Education Program from Framingham State College. The next cohort is slated to begin in the fall. Applications can be picked up from the CDI offices starting April 7, 2009.

On Thursday, April 30, PAWS is having a no-host meeting at Coffee Care in Garapan. The meeting is open to open to the public. The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a presentation by Deloitte & Touche for individual taxpayers (as opposed to corporate taxpayers). The workshop will be at 9am, Wednesday, April 8, at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce conference room. The workshop will cover topics including:
– Tax Savings Tips for 2008
– Highlights of individual tax benefits and breaks provided under the 2009 American Recovery and Investment Act
The cost for workshop attendees is $10 per person for members and $20 per person for non-members. The registration cut-off for attending this workshop is 5pm this Monday, April 6. [B]Income tax return deadline[/B]The Division of Revenue and Taxation wishes to inform all CNMI residents that the deadline for filing of the 2008 individual Income Tax Return is Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the office of the Division of Revenue and Taxation located at the Joeten Dandan Commercial Center. Due to some conflicting events, the 2009 Corporate Challenge of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce is being rescheduled.
