Saipan Grand Hotel continues its celebration of Chamorro and Carolinian cultures by extending its 20 percent VIP discount to local residents at Aoi Restaurant throughout the entire month of April.

The usual 10-percent discount is being increased to 20 percent off for local guests at Aoi Restaurant’s daily lunch buffet—the very popular Authentic Chamorro and Mexican Cuisine Lunch Buffet—as well as its Dinner Teppan and Sunday Brunch.

“It’s just our way of showing our deep and heartfelt appreciation to the local Chamorro and Carolinian communities who have supported us throughout this years,” Assistant F&B manager Fernando “Ding” Ureta said.

Ureta said that staff of Aoi Restaurant will incorporate mwar and leis as part of their uniform starting this April, in tune with the hotel’s Island Spirit@The Grand promotion.

In addition, chef Danny Dela Cruz will also serve traditional local treats and desserts like titiyas, apigigi, rosketti, tamales, and potu that will surely tickle the sweet tooth of indigenous diners.

Aside from the 20 percent discount extended to locals, Aoi Restaurant is also giving seniors 30 percent discount and children under 5 years old 50 percent off.

Club V is also expected to join the fun as Ureta hinted that plans are afoot to hire local bands and artists to play at the disco every night.

“We not only want to promote local food but local musical talent as well. This April will indeed be a celebration of Chamorro and Carolinian cultures,” he said.

For the month of April, Club V will also have a Wear Island Spirit theme where partygoers who come in wearing a mwar, sarong, or lei will immediately be entered in a raffle drawing where exciting prizes are at stake.

Saipan Grand is also offering a “Special Getaway for 2” package for just $88. For that price, couples get a room any day of the week and return on the weekend for Sunday Brunch at Aoi Restaurant. If they wish, couples can also avail of the weekday lunch buffet and Dinner Teppan in lieu of Sunday Brunch.

Those who avail of the package also get free play at Whimsy Arcade Center, free swimming pool pass, and free entrance at Club V.

The F&B assistant manager also assured that Island Spirit@The Grand won’t be a one-shot deal, as Ureta aims to make the celebration of Chamorro and Carolinian cultures a yearly thing at the Susupe landmark.

“I always believe that any business will not prosper without the help of local people and that’s why this month Saipan Grand will show how dear our Chamorro and Carolinian friends are by treating them as VIPs and giving them additional food and room discounts,” said Ureta.

For only the month of April, Saipan Grand is also offering a 10 percent discount on its banquet services (birthdays, anniversaries, christenings/dedications, and weddings, etc.).
