Tenorio leads Big League in batting
E.J. Tenorio of the D-9ers averaged .556 on a 5-for-9 performance at the plate to top the batting category in the Big League Division of the 2009 Saipan Little League played at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballpark.
As of March 10, Tenorio also has the most RBIs with four.
But the D-9ers are still groping for form after a seesaw performance in their first four games of the season.
They won their first game against Team Aztecs, 8-7, but lost to the Tanapag Falcons, 4-1.
The D-9ers then won again over the Ol’Aces, 2-1, and lost to the IT&E Fielders, 7-4.
Nick Cruz of the Aztecs went 5-for-10 for a .500 average, good for second place in batting.
The other players included in the list, based on eight or more at-bats, were Falcons’ Ben Camacho (.455), D-9ers’ David Camacho (.400), D-9ers’ Jesse Sablan (.375), Aztecs’ Tim Cruz (.364), Falcons’ Ike Aldan (.333), Fielders’ Zack Tudela (.333), Fielders’ Ben Flores (.333), and Fielders’ Iaonis Rasa (.300).
Tim Cruz had the most number of runs scored with six, while eight players have so far scored a double, including Nick Cruz Jr., David Camacho, Jesse Sablan, and Elliot Tenorio of D-9ers, Anthony Aldan of the Hustlers, and Zack Tudela, Ike Aldan, and Vicente Camacho of the Falcons.
There were seven players who made a triple—David Camacho, Elliot Tenorio, and Giovanni Ayuyu of the Husters, Anthony Tenorio, Ike Aldan, and Ben Aldan of D-9ers, and Ben Flores.
Four pitchers had a 0.00 ERA with Vicente Camacho and Iaonis Rasa having pitched 6.2 innings, while Anthony Aldan threw 5.1 innings and Drew Magofna appeared in five innings.
Also in the list were D-9ers’ Jared Camacho (0.55), Ol’Aces’ Jimmy Brel (1.17), D-9ers’ David Camacho (1.68), Aztecs’ Nick Cruz (2.52), and Fielders’ Elton Santos (3.00).
In strikeouts, Santos was tops with 19 followed by Jared Camacho (16), Vicente Camacho (15), Giovanni Ayuyu (11), and Nick Muna (10).
