Kiyoshi, Sablan confirmed to boards

The Senate unanimously confirmed two individuals to serve as members of local boards.

At their session last week, the Senate members confirmed Jose P. Kiyoshi to serve as a member of the Commonwealth Elections Commission board and Edward C. Sablan to serve as a member of the Commonwealth Development Authority board.

Kiyoshi will represent Tinian as a member of the Elections Commission board. He will serve a four-year term. Kiyoshi has been a law enforcement officer at The Department of Commerce’s Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco Control Division since 1994.

Sablan has been a compliance manager in the Department of Finance’s Revenue and Tax Division in the past. He served on the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s board of directors from July 1999 to May 2002, during which he served as board chairman from July 2001 to May 2002.
