The Jets scored another easy win Sunday, this time beating the Survivors, 10-3, to establish themselves as one of the heavy favorites this year in the Major Division of the 2009 Saipan Little League.

With the Jets batters hitting against a team with struggling pitchers, the Jets zoomed to a 7-0 lead in the top of the second inning en route to their fifth win in six games. The run was capped by an inside-the-park solo homerun in the sixth inning.

The team is handled by Derron Flores, Joey Dela Cruz, and Joseph Deleon Guerrero. The Jets is sponsored by Juan S. Tenorio and Pacific Amusement.

The roster is led by Jose Lizama Jr., the division’s leader in batting percentage with an average of .800 after the first three weeks of the season.

Lizama went 2-for-4 against the Survivors with two runs.

Jhace Palacios, Lizama, and Franco Nakamura gave the Jets the first three runs in the first inning.

Larry Sebaklim, Devyn Flores, Palacios, and Tristan Javier added four more runs in the second and the Jets practically took control of the game after that.

Truman Shiro, Gayvan Uchau, and Caleb Takao streaked home in the bottom of the third but the Survivors could only manage three hits in the next three innings.

Joseph Guerrero scored a lone run in the fourth for the Jets on a sacrifice fly by Lizama.

Guerrero hit one to centerfield for an inside-the-park homerun and Lizama scored on Kane Ybanez’s single to right field for the Jet’s final offensive thrust.

The Jets lone defeat so far was against the Red Sox (4-2).

Red Sox 14, Little Falcons 3

The Red Sox rolled to their third straight win against the slumping Tanapag Little Falcons, 14-3, also last Sunday.

Brett Halstead Jr. went 3-for-4 with three runs, Nathan Sablan scored three runs, Keene Deleon Guerrero had two runs, while the rest of their teammates came up with one each.

The Falcons suffered their sixth straight loss in as many games.
