Immigration agents arrested early this week a maintenance repairer who has allegedly overstayed in the CNMI for six years already.

In yesterday’s hearing, Superior Court associate judge David A. Wiseman imposed a $100 cash plus $900 unsecured bond for the temporary release of Babul Miah.

Wiseman ordered the 39-year-old Bangladeshi to appear in court on April 9 at 2pm to explain why he should not be deported.

Among his bail conditions, Munson required Miah to proceed to the Immigration Office every Friday.

Miah claims he lost his passport.

Immigration investigator John Peter stated that Miah’s entry permit expired on Feb. 6, 2003. Peter said Miah does not have any pending labor case, was not issued any temporary work authorization, and does not have any pending employment application.
