Teen Talk will do a presentation at the Legislature today, March 26 at 3:30pm in the House Chamber

Pre-Economic Summit Government Working Session tomorrow, March 27, at 8:30am-1pm at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.

Public Utilities Commission rate hearings for water, wastewater, and power tomorrow, March 27, at 1pm in the Senate chamber.

[B]NMC alumni barbecue bash[/B]

The NMC Alumni Association is inviting all NMC alumni to the first ever “NMC Alumni Reunion Barbecue Bash” to be held at Managaha on April 4, 2009. There will be food, fun, drinks, and games. Interested alumni can log on to www.nmcnet.edu and register on the alumni page. Alumni membership cards are now available and include discounts to businesses and access to NMC facilities. Come and hang out with former classmates from NMC. Puengin Inetnon will be held again tomorrow, March 27, 2009, at the Kagman Community Center’s parking lot. Puengin Inetnon is Kagman’s Friday Night Market that will take place every government payday. It will begin at 4:30pm and end at 10pm. There will vendors selling food, drinks, snacks, clothing, and crafts. Puengin Inetnon is a family oriented event. Alcohol will be prohibited from the event. All are welcome. Kagman’s Saturday Flea Market will be on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the Kagman Community Center’s parking lot. It will be held every government payday Saturday. You may only sell your used items. The next general membership meeting of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be held at the Charley’s Cabaret of the Pacific Islands Club on April 1. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30am, and the meeting will begin at noon. As usual, the meeting is $15 for members, $20 for guests of members, and $25 for general public. Speakers at the meeting will be members of the Citizens for Change of Article XII group, who will discuss their efforts with regard to the land alienation laws in the Commonwealth.[B][I] (PR)[/I][/B] [B]Corporate Challenge reset to May 17[/B]

Due to some conflicting events, the 2009 Corporate Challenge of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce is being rescheduled. After a meeting with the team captains for the companies that already registered, it was agreed that the event will take place on Sunday, May 17. Everything else remains the same. The U.S. military is conducting live fire releases on the island of Farallon de Mendenilla until March 31, 2009, from 8am to 3am, and on April 1 to 3, 2009, also from 8am to 3am.

The location of this activity will be on the island of Farallon de Mendenilla training area (R7201) on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants.

Due to the danger imposed by this activity, the Emergency Management Office is advising the public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators—to stay away from this area during the time and dates indicated.

Quarterly tax return deadline

The Division of Revenue and Taxation wishes to remind all CNMI residents that the 2009 1st Quarter deadline for filing the quarterly tax returns is Thursday, April 30, 2009. The Division of Revenue and Taxation will be open from 7:30am to 4:30pm on Thursday, April 30, 2009. Income tax return deadline

The Division of Revenue and Taxation wishes to inform all CNMI residents that the deadline for filing of the 2008 individual Income Tax Return is Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the office of the Division of Revenue and Taxation located at the Joeten Dandan Commercial Center. The Saipan Chamber of Commerce is reminding the public of the upcoming Economic Restoration Summit, set for April 2-3, 2009. In preparation for the Summit, there will be a meeting today, March 26, for government officials to gather preliminary information and ideas. It will be held at the Multi-Purpose Center, from 8:30am to 12pm. The session will be broadcast through video teleconference to Rota and Tinian participants. The 23rd Annual American Red Cross Walkathon will be held this Saturday, March 28, at 6am, starting at the 4H Building on Beach Road in Susupe.

Register for $15 and receive a free t-shirt. Walkers start at the designated starting point, then walk north toward the Garapan Fishing Base, then back to Susupe.

Drinks and sandwiches will be available at the start and finish points, and along the routes. Protect yourselves, the young and the old by following the directions of the safety officers.
