35 OES are students inducted to the National Elementary Honor Society
Thirty-five students from Oleai Elementary School were inducted as new members of the National Elementary Honor Society in a ceremony held at the Pacific Islands Club on Saturday, March 21, 2009.
Members were selected by the chapter’s faculty council for meeting high standards of academic excellence and responsibility. Students inducted were:
“We are very proud to recognize these outstanding members of our student body. National Elementary Honor Society members are chosen for and then expected to continue their exemplary contributions to the school and community,” said Glenn Muña, principal of the school.
The Oleai Elementary School Chapter has been established since August 2008. Each year the chapter participates in several projects for the school and community which include the upcoming American Red Cross Walkathon.
The National Elementary Honor Society was established in 2008 to recognize outstanding elementary level students in grades 4th to 6th. The organization is a program of the National Association of Secondary School Principals in cooperation with the National Association of Elementary School Principals.
