CNMI’s 670 Enforcers dominated the recent 2009 Goodwill Law Enforcement Slow-pitch Softball Tournament hosted by Palau.

The 670 Enforcers won over Belau Force, 19-15, in the championship game held at the Meyuns Softball Field from March 13 to 15.

They also took home the perpetual game trophy after beating Guam Customs, 23-16, and two of their players finished first and second in the homerun derby.

Byron Kaipat had three and Antonio Celis hit two homers for the CNMI.

The other members, who came from various law enforcement divisions in the CNMI, were J.J. Atalig, Dave Cepeda, James Fleming, Antonio Iguel, Perry Iguel, J.J. Laniyo, Poland Masaharu, Ray Renguul, J.P. Sablan, J.J. Salas, Craig Sanchez, Jun Saralu, Bernard Santos, and CNMI Director of Customs Jesus Muna.

The other members of the CNMI delegation were Juanette Atalig, Ms. Kim, Joann Jones, Dorthea Muna, Juanette Sablan, Samantha Salas, and Nadia Saralu.

Three tams from Guam joined the three-day tournament—Guam Customs, Guam DYA, and Guam DOC.

Host Palau entered two teams, Belau Force and Belau COPS.

The 670 Enforces eliminated all five teams they faced in the tournament.

“The 670 Enforcers are proud and happy to be bringing back home the trophy for the tournament, the first and second place for the homerun derby, and the perpetual game trophy,” Samantha Salas said.

The team expressed their appreciation to those who contributed to the success of the tournament.
