2009 Businesswoman of the Year nominees announced

[B]TAMUNING, Guam[/B]—The fourth annual Businesswoman of the Year Maga’haga award program sponsored by First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business brings recognition to businesswomen who have made a difference and raised the bar in the field in which they are involved.

The 2009 nominees are as follows: Aileen K. Alfred, president, Pacific American Title; Maria C. Daquigan, general manager, Sentry Hospitality Corp.; Divina Evaristo, marketing consultant, McDonald’s of Guam; Kristal K. Koga, owner of the Kristal Kollection; Rindraty Celes Limtiaco, president and publisher, Pacific Daily News; Susan L. Macario, general manager, Shirley’s of Saipan; Anita M. Melwani, president, Safety 1st Systems Inc.; Lorraine S. Okada, executive manager, Carlsmith Ball LLP; Michelle Lin Sablan, owner, Iridescent Boutique and Marisol L. Wild, manager, commercial relocations, Pacific Island Movers.

The Maga’haga Award will be presented at the Businesswoman of the Year gala on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency Guam in conjunction with the release of the Guam Business May/June issue, featuring a commissioned photo study of the recipient on its cover. Proceeds from the gala will fund scholarships at the University of Guam, Guam Community College, and Northern Marianas College.

Past recipients include Katherine Calvo Sgro, executive vice president and chairman of the board for Payless Markets Inc., 2006; Christine Won Pat Baleto, general manager of Market Wholesale Distributors, 2007; Julienne Rose Perez Duenas, physical therapist, owner and clinical director of Sports, Orthopedic and Active Rehabilitation Inc, 2008.
