Docomo beats Bad Boyz in Obyan
Docomo Pacific Hustlers rolled to their second straight win to grab solo second in the Obyan Division of the Budweiser 8-Ball League.
The Hustlers outsmarted Billy Bones Bad Boyz, 5-2, last March 3 to duplicate their first win of the season against their corporate rivals IT&E Voyagers last Feb. 24.
They are now in solo second place with a 10-4 record.
Erwin Gomez, Jerry Soriano, Senen Pangelinan, and Joemer Enriquez won over their rivals in the singles.
The lone Hustler who fell on the wayside was Robert Sanciangco, who failed to sustain a 1-0 lead and was ambushed by Joe Villagomez.
Bad Boyz’s Diamond Aldan and Dexter Mendiola also won in the first doubles match against the pair of Joey Lucido and Sanciangco.
But Gomez and Enriquez teamed up to win against Sam Babauta and Joe Villagomez in the second doubles for the Hustlers’ big win that put the Hustlers in second place behind Utopia Mixed Acers (10-4).
Mixed Acers (6-1) are on top due to their higher 85.7 winning percentage after seven games. They were on a bye in the second playing date. The Hustlers have a 71.4 winning percentage after 14 matches.
[B]Home Boys 5, Wild Wild West 2[/B]Billy Bones Home Boys also hammered out a 5-2 victory over Wild Wild West to climb to third place with an 8-6 slate. They have a 51.7 winning percentage after 14 matches.
Mario Diola, Juancho Sanchez, Tata Billones, and Jorge Lizardo gave the Home Boys a 4-0 lead by disposing separate opponents in the first four singles matches.
Wild Wild West scored its lone win in the singles courtesy of Jess Guerra, who swept Bill Mott.
Guerra paired with Noi Blake in another win over Home Boys tandem of Mendoza and Nelson Pagaduan in the first doubles.
Nolan Cultura and Franz De Luna won in the second doubles to complete the Home Boys’ first win of the season after its 3-4 defeat to sister team Bad Boyz on opening day.
[B]IT&E 5, Snicker 2[/B]In the other game, IT&E Voyagers booked their first win after beating Snicker 8 Ball Knights, 5-2, and moved from fifth to fourth.
The Voyagers lost to Docomo Hustlers, 2-5, on opening day.
Rolly Villanueva, Jean Cadag, Luis Fajardo, and R.J. Mascarinas won in the singles then Villanueva and Roman Rodriguez triumphed in the first doubles.
Knights’ Larry Briones swept Rodriguez in singles then teamed up with Marvin Mendoza to beat Mascarinas and Fajardo in the second doubles.
