5.1 earthquake shakes Marianas

A strong earthquake shook the Marianas region early yesterday morning. There were no reports of casualties or damage.

The Emergency Management Office said the temblor had a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 and hit the region around 6:30am, Thursday, March 5, 2009.

EMO said the quake’s epicenter was located at 16.196 degrees north latitude, 145.744 degrees east longitudes.
