Saipan motorists are now paying more for fuel after Mobil Oil Marianas and Shell Marianas raised their pump prices over the weekend by 15 cents a gallon, as oil prices hovered near $40 a barrel on Monday in Asia.

Shell increased the pump prices of its regular and premium unleaded gasoline at 6am on Friday.

Mobil Oil Marianas followed suit on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Mobil’s and Shell’s regular unleaded gasoline are priced the same at $2.979 a gallon for self-serve, and $3.109 a gallon for full-serve.

Mobil’s super unleaded gasoline is now $3.279 a gallon (self serve), while Shell’s premium unleaded gasoline is now $3.299 a gallon (self serve).

Diesel gasoline price at Mobil and Shell stations remains the same.

Saipan motorists haven’t had fuel price hikes in recent months although pump prices last year hovered near $5 a gallon.
