Martin M. Sakisat, who last ran as senator for Tinian in 2007 but lost, is reviving his bid for the position.

Sakista said he is planning to run again as senator and he will be seeking the endorsement of the Covenant Party on Tinian.

He said he intends to file his letter of intention before the end of next month to the Covenant Party on Tinian. “My platform is basically the same platform I used in my last bid,” he said.

He said he was inspired to run again as “I have observed that the timing now, when we are experiencing this global crisis, now is not the time to change the captain of the ship on Tinian and the CNMI.”

He said he wants to run under the Covenant Party because he feels that, with both the Tinian mayor and the incumbent governor being under that party, “I could work with compatibility with the administration on Tinian and the Fitial administration.”
