[B]Ribbon-cutting today for cultural center[/B]

Mayor Juan B. Tudela invites residents of Saipan, tour agents and other interested individuals to the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the newly completed Northern Marianas-Japan Cultural Center, Tudela’s legacy project, funded under the Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant program, today, Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 10am at Sugar King Park on Middle Road right across the Saipan Museum. The Life in the Son Christian Fellowship is hosting a screening of Fireproof, a post-Valentine movie event, about a fire captain who runs into burning buildings to save someone he doesn’t know while he watches his own marriage burn to the ground. All couples and even singles are invited to watch this life-changing movie about “never leaving your partner behind,” on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009. Movie showing schedule are at 1:30pm, 4:30pm, and 7pm at the Life in the Son Christian Fellowship facility, Chalan Pale Arnold, 2nd Floor of Alpex Showroom. Childcare will be provided for free. The Tinian Chamber of Commerce will conduct its election of 2009 officers today, Feb. 20, at 10:30a, in the Tinian Room at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino. All members are encouraged to attend. Applications for membership will be available at the door. Chamber president Don A. Farrell said that only member businesses that have paid the minimum one month due of $10 will be eligible to vote in the election. Only one vote is allowed for each federal tax identification number, no matter the size of the business.[B][I] (PR)[/I][/B] [B]Family Bingo fundraiser set[/B]

The San Antonio Parish is sponsoring a “Family Bingo” fundraising event this Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at the Parish Social Hall, from 11:30am to 5:30pm. Bingo cards will be on sale for 50 cents each and $2 a set. Everyone is invited to, come one come all.[B][I] (PR)[/I][/B]

Kagman High School’s Yearbook Class ‘09 presents “Cupid’s Ball” tomorrow, Feb. 21, 2009, Saturday, at the Saipan World Resort, from 6pm to 10pm. Entertainment will be provided by Power 99 DJ Niana Dela Cruz, KHS Mr. & Mrs. Cupid, and a fashion show. Ticket prices, which include a dinner buffet, is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
