Shame on you!

To the new ad-hoc group: Shame on of you for disrespecting our indigenous inherent local right to own land here in our homeland. The members of your group are the same individuals who fought off increased minimum wages hikes and kept the locals unemployed and on food stamp lines to appease your own investment benefits.

For over 25 years, Article 12 had remained in its sacred place, our Covenant, and protected by our Constitution for our people and the future generations of our homeland. Your group treats our islands as if it were the size of Los Angeles or Hawaii but none of you even realize that we are nothing but a speck on the globe. While our own children are waiting on a long list for homesteads, you are now opting to tear down our gates and sell our lands to the outside world.

We hope the indigenous Chamorros and Carolinians are reading this with serious and grave concerns, so that they may be aware of what some greedy “local Northern Mariana-descent” are proposing. Shame on all of you, especially former Washington Representative and Covenant negotiator Edward Pangelinan, who wasted taxpayers dollars for many years behind closed doors in Washington doing nothing to protect our homeland and our people, and then coming home and saying that Article 12 is the problem. Get real, Mr. Pangelinan.

We ask all of you ad-hoc wannabe mainlander group one question: Where are some of the Native Hawaiians presently living in their homeland? On their own land or somewhere on the shoreline? It’s because of self-interest greedy individuals such as yourselves that put the natives out of their own homes and into cardboard boxes on sidewalks and onto the jungles near the shorelines while you sit on your Donald Trump throne reaping the benefits and profits received from taking advantage of the disadvantaged. Taya respeto para y taotao tano, yan taimamalao hamyo na taotao tano.

All of you are so used to the easy life. It’s about time you learn how to survive the common ordinary way of life in our homeland, so get used to it. If not, pack your bags and move on out of here and leave Article 12 alone for you are the impediments in our homeland.
