Laolao Bay Golf Resort donated cash and several items to two community based entities during simple ceremonies Friday at its facility in Kagman.

Laolao Bay president Yun Kim and vice president and general manager Tetsuya Matsunaga personally turned over a $500 donation to Fr. Manny Corcuera of the Santa Soledad Parish Church and members of the parish council.

The parish council is currently raising funds for its fiesta in April. Part of the funds would be used for raffle prizes.

Kim and Matsunaga also personally turned over several items, including hats, T-shirts, and belts to the members of the organizing committee for the Division of Youth Services Parent Leadership Summit.

February is Parent Leadership Month with several activities lined up, including a workshop last weekend at the Chacha Ocean View Middle in Kagman.

“The donated items will be turned over to the Karidat Social Services Network for distribution to the needy people,” said Marylou Ada of Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

“We thank the management of the resort, especially Mr. Yun Kim, for these donations,” said Felicidad Ogumoro, coordinator for Parent Education Committee and the overall chairman of the Parent Leadership committee.

Others who were present during the turnover were Polly Omecheleng of NMC-CREES and head of the exhibit committee for the youth summit; Dyan Camacho, head of the solicitation committee; and Thelma Torres, head of the Family Day Fun.
