All fighters from Guam won against their respective foes from Saipan in the Rites of Passage VI: Conviction with Ryan “The Dentist” Urquizu posting the quickest win of the night over Maitai “The Charger” Charley in the main event.

Urquizu won via technical knockout after only 11 seconds in the first round of their three-round scheduled lightweight division (150lbs) match, stunning a full house crowd at the Royal Taga Hall of the Saipan World Resort Saturday night.

The more experienced Urquizu of Fight To Win decked Charley with a solid right hook to the chin, sending the Saipan fighter half-conscious for several minutes.

Referee Jason Tarkong immediately stopped the fight, as Charley tried to bring himself up but looked groggy and sat at his corner.

Seeing the bout was over, Urquizu immediately went to Charley and embraced him to show sportsmanship, as the 26-year-old power puncher collected his 13th win in 17 fights.

Charley, the third fighter out of Marianas Elite to fall that night, absorbed his fourth defeat in eight bouts.

Urquizu was surprised that the fight ended so quickly saying he expected it to be a hard one.

“But I was really going for a kill. I just did what I needed to do,” he said.

Urquizu said he has high respects for Marianas fighters and left them with an advice.

“They should keep on training hard. Stay focus on it,” he said.

The semi-main event also ended quickly as Guam’s Hosea Ware prevailed against another Marianas Elite fighter Syl “The Deal” Teregeyo in their middleweight division (85lbs) match-up.

Guest referee from Guam Baby Joe Taimanglo, one of the popular mixed martial arts fighters in Guam, stopped the fight via tap out just before the end of the first round.

The 19-year-old Ware improved his record to 6-1, while Teregeyo went 4-4.

“It’s nice to be here on Saipan and it’s been a wonderful night,” said Ware, who represents Spike 22 Ground-Fu and was in his first fight outside of Guam.

Ware plans to rest for a few days to savor his latest win before going back to the gym.

“It’s a beautiful win. I’m still young, I just need a few rest before I hit the road, again,” he said.

The four other Guam fighters who won over their respective opponents from Saipan were Ray Apiag, Peter Alvarez, Robert Basa and Tony “The Wreck” Reyes.

Reyes outsmarted Derick “Pinchi” Rangamar of Marianas Elite in the featherweight division (140lbs) after one minute and 24 seconds in the first round winning via tap out.

Reyes picked up his third win in as many bouts, while Rangamar absorbed his fourth loss in seven fights.

Apiag debuted with a first round victory over Fiden Teregeyo in the featherweight division (145lbs).

Alvarez of SMTM Guam also took his first fight win via a first round tap out against Joe Aldan of Predators in another featherweight bout.

Basa scored the first TKO of the night in his first ring match downing Reagan Mality of Pwang after only one minute and 24 seconds in the first round.

Mality dropped to a 0-3 slate.

In other results, Jerome Fujihara of Trench Tech won by unanimous decision over Jacob Ilo of Zalaka in the bantamweight division (135lbs), while Jordan Ogo of Team Haga defeated Berry Mality in the third round via a tap out in the flyweight division (125lbs).

Mark “The Dark’ Nuque of Trench Tech won via tap out against Stanley Ogo of Team Haga after two minutes of their bout in the lightweight division (153lbs).

In another bantamweight match-up, Kevin Estevez of Marianas Elite scored a tap out win against Daniel Ogo of Team Haga in just over one minute of the first round.

Korean Seung Min Lee of Trench Tech scored a unanimous decision (30-25, 30-27, 30-27) victory over Hen “The Legen” Taga in their lightweight division fight.

Martin Ayuyu of Marianas Elite defeated Francisco Palacios of DAT Gym in the featherweight division (140lbs).

Another Korean fighter, Tom “Lite’s Out’ Kim of Trench Tech, sealed his third win in three fights via a rear naked choke off EJ Palacios in 1:41 of the first round in the lightweight division.

Kyle Peterson of Trench Tech USA also joined the march via a second round tap out win off George Cruz in the middleweight division.

In the lone ladies division match-up, Stacey Rangamar retired Mocklin Enisar in the second round.
Rick “The Slick” San Nicolas was a no-show, again in his scheduled fight against Stan Tuwun.
