Same predicament

Sid, I understand where you’re coming from. My own family too is under the same predicament to which there’s nothing I could do to resolve all claims.

From the outset, the resolution of this matter is the most difficult one I had to endure other than the lack of funds to proceed with the granting of homestead lots for the multitude of applicants.

Claimants with family members dying of cancer and other debilitating illnesses have asked for partial payment. The setback isn’t with the department as much as the inability of family members to come to terms with the disposition of ownership and division of compensation. And the beat goes on. This is my daily dinner as I head home after a long day at work.

I pray, too, that collective leadership would converge and agree to resolve this matter with finality. I also pray that, when I leave DPL at the end of this year, we can jointly close this chapter in our developmental history, though such is perhaps nothing more than wishful thinking on my part. No grudges, Sid. Evidently, you are a nephew, not my prim.

Ghilisow,

John S. DelRosario Jr. Secretary, DPL
