The Division of Environment Quality has analyzed water samples collected from Rota’s recreational beaches and storm water drainage this week and none of the samples showed excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria nor did they exceed the CNMI Marine Water Quality Standards. Therefore, DEA assigns the sampled beach sites a green flag.

DEQ took samples from 12 locations on Rota this week. Marine Water Quality Reports are also provided at www.deq.gov.mp/section.aspx?secID=4 and http://www.cnmicoralreef.net/wq/beachcloseweeklyresults.htm. The public may receive e-mail notifications of the weekly marine water quality reports. To do so, send an email to environment@deq.gov.mp.
