PXC champ to appear in ROP VI

Pacific Xtreme Combat’s undisputed lightweight champion Baby Joe Taimanglo of Guam will make a special guest appearance in Rites of Passage VI: Conviction set this coming Saturday, Jan. 24, at Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall.

Trench Tech president Cuki Alvarez said Taimanglo will serve as special guest referee and judge for some of the fights for that evening.

Aside from this, Alvarez said Taimanglo will also be the cornerman for up-and-coming PXC welterweight contender and semi main event competitor Hosea Ware from Spike 22 Ground Fu fight Academy.

Ware will be taking on Syl “The Deal” Teregeyo of Team Marianas Elite in a 185-lb. fight.

Taimanglo will also be accompanied in his trip to Saipan by former Universal Reality Combat Championships lightweight champion Justin “The Shocker” Cruz.

“Both of these gentlemen are of Chamorro heritage and are ambassadors of the Marianas in mixed martial arts competitions around the region. Both individuals hold numerous titles/medals in jiu jitsu,” said Alvarez.

The Teregeyo-Ware bout will be followed by the main event that will feature Marianas Elite’s Maitai ‘The Charger” Charley against Ryan “The Dentist” Urquizu of Guam’s Fight to Win!.
