The Division of Environmental Quality cleanup brigade will be picking up trash at Coral Ocean Point (Unai Dangkulo) on Feb. 7.
Thos who would like to volunteer may join the group on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 8am. Volunteers will clean until 10am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed.
This month, outstanding brigade volunteers who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participated in at least three cleanups will receive a green brigade t-shirt.
The DEQ cleanup brigade began in 1996 and continues to maintain clean, healthy beaches.

[B]Deadline set for filing quarterly tax returns[/B]The Division of Revenue and Taxation is reminding all CNMI residents that the 2008 4th Quarter deadline for filing the quarterly tax returns is Monday, Feb. 2, 2009. The Division of Revenue and Taxation will be open from 7:30am to 6:30pm on Monday Feb. 2, 2009. The office of the Division of Revenue and Taxation is located at the Joeten DanDan Commercial Center. [B]Bayani to host cultural show fundraiser[/B]The Bayani Association will host and launch a Filipino Cultural Show called “Balik-Tanaw Sa Kulturang Pinoy” on Jan. 17, at 7pm, at the Hibiscus Hall of the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan in Garapan.
The two-hour cultural show and banquet dinner presents about 16 creative cultural dances that portray the Filipinos’ regional culture, tradition and arts representing the Philippine islands of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The CNMI Guma’ Ezperansa/Karidat is the chosen beneficiary for the net proceeds of the event. (PR)
[B]Vendors needed for Puengin Inetnon[/B]The Kagman Community Association is looking for interested vendors to sell food, drinks, arts, crafts, clothing, produce, snacks, or other items at Puengin Inetnon. Puengin Inetnon is Chamorro for “A Night of Gathering”. Puengin Inetnon will be Kagman’s Friday Night Market and will be held every government payday Friday outside the Kagman Community Center. [B]Additional English placement test scheduled [/B]The Northern Marianas College has scheduled an additional English Placement Test date set for Friday, January 16, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Room A-6.
No admittance to the testing room will be allowed after the starting time. Those who wish to take the test must bring a valid photo ID (driver’s license, passport or school ID) and pencils.
There is a $25 fee for the English Placement Test that must be paid in advance at the NMC Cashier (M-F, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm). No one will be allowed into the testing room without proof of payment (a receipt for either the placement test fee or the NMC application fee). Payment for the application fee will cover the English placement test fee.
