Sergio Loya, project manager of consulting firm Management Analysis Inc., recently donated $750 to the volunteer group that is working on a project at the Commonwealth Health Center.

Loya said the money came from his own pocket and has no connection with MAI.

Loya’s company is helping the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Commission in drafting a five-year economic recovery plan for the CNMI.

His donation was turned over on Dec. 10 to Kaye Christian, a volunteer advocating for people with disabilities.

Christian is developing an outdoor center project at the CHC, where patients can have time to rest and stretch.

Christian is a consumer advocate, member of the Mental Health Planning Council at CHC, and chairperson of the Protection and Advocacy of Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) Advisory Council at NMPASI.

Her advocacy work includes helping individuals with mental illness and work toward reducing the stigma of mental illness in the CNMI.
