Lady Knights lead 2008 Holiday Hoops
Action in the 2008 Annual Christmas Basketball Jam Festival resumed Monday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium with Mt. Carmel School taking the lead in the girls’ 14/18-and-under division.
The Lady Knights handed MHS II its first loss in the tournament with the former pulling off a 64-55 win.
Mt. Carmel improved to a 3-0 record after Day 2 of the competition following a win via forfeit over ChaCha Oceanview High School.
MHS II, which won its debut against sister team MHS I, 66-39, Saturday before losing to the Lady Knights vented its ire on the Kagman Lady Ayuyus, 51-45, in the afternoon game.
Earlier, MHS I was awarded a win after a no-show from Chacha. The Lady Dolphins I and II hold identical 2-1 records.
In other results in the girls division, the Lady Ayuyus broke into the win column after walloping Hopwood Junior High School, 56-29.
Kagman’s cagebelles are in third place with a 1-2 record, while Hopwood and Chacha have similar 0-2 slates.
In the boys’ 14-and-under division, the Sixers I kept the lead in Pool A after getting their third win in a row.
The Sixers I crushed ChaCha, 80-36.
In second place is Rollers A, which bounced back from an opening loss with two wins on Day 2. Rollers A prevailed over the G-Stars, 80-23, and won via forfeit against Hilitai.
In Pool B, the Lil’Sonics improved to a 2-0 record and take the lead in the group following their 65-41 triumph over LMA.
Hopwood nailed its first win in Pool B after a victory via forfeit against Rollers B.
In the boys’ 18-and-under division, the Sixers gained a share of the lead with Rollers B after an 83-56 win over the Runnin’ Rebels. The Sixers and the Rollers B hold identical 2-0 marks in Pool C.
The Sonics and the defending champion G-Stars also have similar 2-0 slates after thumping the ACS Torchbearers, 80-23, and Rollers C, 88-49, respectively.
Rollers A takes the lead in Pool A after slipping past the Ayuyus, 64-55, while the Ol’Aces improved to a 1-1 record following a 48-31 win over the Junior Sonics.
