Hearings set on Flame Sako lease

A House and Senate joint committee will conduct public hearings next week to receive testimony on the proposed land lease by Flame Sako Resort Hotel and Spa.
The House Committee on Natural Resources and the Senate Committee on Resources, Economic Development and Programs will hold the first hearing on Dec. 9, Tuesday, at 6:30pm at the GTC Elementary School. The second one will be held the following day, Dec, 10, 6:30pm, at the Multi-Purpose Center.
The proposed resort, a 357-room hotel facility to be called the Flame Sako Resort Hotel and Spa, aims to lease a total of 109,003 square meters of property located north of Palms Resort Saipan in As Matius.
Members of the public are urged to submit written or oral testimony at the public hearing and to attend these public hearings to learn more about the land lease.
