Korea’s top two airlines will sharply reduce fuel surcharges for international routes next month to reflect the steep fall in jet fuel prices.

Korean Air and Asiana Airlines say they will lower fuel surcharges to the U.S. and Europe to US$41 from the current $140.

The two set their additional fuel tax rates bimonthly for international routes in line with the average price of fuel in the previous month.

Fuel taxes on flights to China, Southeast Asia, and Saipan will drop from $44 to $18 and from $32 to $9 for flights to Japan. (Arirang News)
