Hall of Fame nominations are due today
Nominations for the 2009 Sports Hall of Fame are due tonight during the Northern Marianas Amateur Sports Association’s regular monthly meeting at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room.
NMASA president Michael A. White said aside from the Hall of Fame nominations, the CNMI’s sports governing body will also open nominations for its 2009 board of directors.
“At the meeting, we will take nominations for the 2009 board of directors and for the CNMI Sports Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame nominations must be made by the appropriate sports federation, in writing and on its letterhead, and signed by an authorized official (president or secretary general). No further nominations will be accepted after Dec. 4. Elections will be held at our January meeting,” he said.
The December meeting will start like previous monthly meetings at 7pm at the Oleai Sports Complex venue.
As always, NMASA member associations will vote for the best athletes for the previous month (November) in four categories (male, female, male student, and female student) during the monthly general membership meeting.
White reminded associations that will be nominating their athletes to submit written nominations in multiple copies to be distributed to members during the meeting.
“We will select athletes of the month of November. Please be sure to make your nominations in writing, with sufficient copies for others,” he said. (NMASA)
