Members of the Korean Women’s Association on Saipan treated the man’amko to a luncheon party yesterday at the Office on Aging.

Program coordinator Walter Manglona said the Korean women have been doing this every year since the 1990s.

“The Office on Aging would like to express our appreciation to them,” Manglona said.

This year, they brought assorted gift items that were raffled to the senior citizens.

One of the members, Microl Toyota employee Sam Kim, said they are happy to be back meeting the man’amko.

She said her group have been doing a regular bazaar activity and they have been saving some of the proceeds to be given to the senior citizens.

The group’s outgoing president, Gil Ah Kim Yoon, and incoming president, Chil Lye Lee, led the group in offering an inspirational song to the senior citizens.

The group also offered a cake and enjoyed chatting with the elderly.

“We thank you for coming and we hope to see you again here next year,” said Man’amko Advisory Council president Frank Reyes.

In a plaque of appreciation given to the Korean group, office director Howard Macaranas said, “The holidays are a time of giving and a time to be with family.”

“Your continued support and contribution to the man’amko reminds us how fortunate we are to have such good friends. We highly recognize you for all the years of commitment and support that you have given to our senior citizens.”
