The Division of Environmental Quality cleanup brigade will be at it again, picking up trash at Marine Beach in Kagman.
If you would like to volunteer your time to clean and beautify the island, meet with the brigade volunteers on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at 8am. Volunteers will clean until 10am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed.
This month, outstanding brigade volunteers who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participated in at least three cleanups will receive a green brigade t-shirt.
A total of 114 volunteers removed 780 lbs of debris from Tank Beach on Nov. 1. The DEQ cleanup brigade began in 1996 and continues to maintain clean, healthy beaches.
