The 2008 Island-wide Men’s Fast-pitch Softball League continues tonight with a double header at the Miguel Basa “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Softball Field.

The CNMI Softball Association president Manny Tenorio said the 6:30pm first game will have Islanders taking on Bud Boys, while the second game will feature defending champion D9ers looking for win No. 2 against Proa beginning at 8pm.

Action continues on Thursday with Tanapag squaring off against Top Ten in the 6:30pm opener and Bud Boys taking the field opposite Proa in the 8pm nightcap.

D9ers won the first game of the young season last Nov. 18 when it bludgeoned Tanapag, 12-2, at the Oleai Sports Complex field.

D-9ers won last year’s championship after sweeping Tanapag Falcons in a best-of-three title series.

The D-9ers clobbered the Falcons in Game 1, 13-2, and foiled the latter’s bid to extend the series by cruising to a 15-3 triumph in Game 2.

It was the seventh title overall for D-9ers, which went undefeated in the 2007 season. (PR)
