Dates for Loyola tennis tilt changed
Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan tennis instructor Peter Loyola has made changes in the playing days for the 2008 Loyola Sports Yearend Tennis Tournament next month.
Loyola said the tournament will run from Dec. 6 to 8, instead from Dec. 8 to 10 as earlier announced.
Loyola said the new schedule for the tournament will encourage more participants as the playing days fall on weekends.
The yearned tournament will be played at the Fiesta tennis courts and will be having competitions in the junior doubles and adults singles.
The junior doubles event will have four divisions, namely the Levels 1, 2 and 3, and Open.
Participants in the juniors doubles will be classified based on their performance in last month’s Loyola tournament while Open doubles will feature players in the 18-and-under age group.
The adults singles is divided into two divisions, namely the men’s and women’s 3.0 and 4.0.
The adults singles will have a single-elimination format and will be using the eight-game pro set scoring.
Levels 1, 2, and 3 will have the regular six-game set, while the open division will use the eight-game pro set. The junior doubles will have a double-elimination format.
Entrance fee for the adults singles is $7. Each player in the juniors doubles will only pay $5 registration fee.
