In a story published yesterday about LaoLao, it was mentioned that the current lease with LaoLao does not obligate the company to support the Kagman Community.

As president of the Kagman Community Association, I disagree. The following are examples of how Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort has contributed to the Kagman community:

1. Free use of the driving range every Thursday for Kagman High School PE class.

2. Clean up and maintaining the grass for half a mile outside of LaoLao so that pedestrians can enjoy their walks.

3. Donation of three golf carts, one for each of the three Kagman schools.

4. LaoLao employee team voluntarily doing cleanups on the roads.

5. Family Fun Day every May, opening the golf course to the public, offering plenty of games and seminars for children, working together with the Division of Fish & Wildlife and DEQ to provide public awareness.

6. Opening the golf course free of charge for Diabetic Coalition fundraising walkathon.

7. Jobs for Kagman residents

8. Participation in beach cleanups

9. Participation in Halloween fundraisers
