Children donate toys, clothes, food to Karidat
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, students of Sister Remedios Early Childhood Learning Center donated toys, clothes, canned goods and dry food to Karidat Social Services.
Four of the kids—Ruleyna Camacho, Victoria Dela Cruz, Jacob Mareham and Joe Mareham—turned over the items to the Karidat office yesterday.
School principal Sr. Martha Ramarui, PTA member Frank Camacho, parent Karla Mareham and staff Leroy Villagomez accompanied the children in handing over the donations to Karidat executive director Angie V. Deleon Guerrero.
“I want to thank them for these wonderful gifts. This will be given to poor families,” she said.
Ramarui said that about three weeks ago, they talked to the kids’ parents about this kind of activity as part of teaching the children about sharing, in time for Thanksgiving Day, which is on the fourth Thursday of this month (Nov. 27).
“We are very grateful to their parents. We are very proud of them,” Ramarui said.
She said it is very important for kids to see that sharing starts from the family and this project will teach them how to share what they have to the poor while they are still young.
