Action in the 2008-2009 World Organized Rocball Community League resumed Saturday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium with Evenflow regaining its form.

The defending champion lost its debut this season, bowing to the returning Ghasias Brothers in overtime, 76-71, last month.

The league took a three-week break giving way to various activities at the gym and allowing Evenflow to regroup and beat the Naturals.

Evenflow juiced out the Naturals, 67-39, winning all four sets of the game. The defending champion took the first set easily, 17-4. The Naturals gave Evenflow a run for its money in the second before the latter escaped with a 16-15 triumph. The third set was another easy ride for Evenflow, 17-5, while the final set was a tougher one, 17-15.

Two other games were played at the resumption of action in the rocball league.

No-Mercy and Section A played in the first game with the former routing the latter, 52-6.

No-Mercy showed its most dominating form in the second set when it nailed a 16-0 victory over Section A.

Myron Laniyo led No-Mercy’s demolition of Section A firing 31 points. Laniyo had seven aces, five kees and three goals. Laniyo’s 31 markers is the highest score yet made by a player in rocball’s multiple points scoring system this year.

In the last game of the day, the Soul Rebels pulled off a come-from-behind 47-43 win over the Oakies.

The Oakies drew first blood taking the opening set, 16-8. The Soul Rebels recovered in the second set with a 16-3 triumph to take the lead, 24-19.

But the Soul Rebels failed to sustain their momentum in the third set, which the Oakies won, 15-8, to regain the lead, 34-22.

A 15-9 win in the fourth set allowed the Soul Rebels to nail a juiced-out victory.

Action in the rocball league will continue this Saturday with teams to be booted out of the tournament if they absorb their third loss.

Twelve teams are competing for this year’s championship. The list also include Islanders, Uraiwak, FSM Boys, Prims, and the Fanians.
