PTI won the Philippine Bowling Association-Budweiser Saturday Night League after edging Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan with the slimmest of margin in the competition that ended early November.

The team, composed of Ramir De Leon, Mindy Taitano, Ronald Fuellas, Ronald Epan, Bernard Paraiso, Richie Dumlao, and Roger Vales, received their handsome trophy exactly a week ago at the Saipan Bowling Center in Oleai.

PTI finished with a 55.5-28.5 record to win the 29th season of the tenpin bowling league.

Fiesta Resort & Spa came in second, half a point behind PTI with its 51-29 win-loss record, followed by Gigi’s Angels and Scrambled Eggs with identical cards of 44-36. Completing the Top 5 was Teax X with its 43-37 record.

In the individual awards, SBC/J’s Restaurant ace Robert Talavera (202.0) and Gigi’s Angels’ Ron Cal (175.2) won the high average award.

Vales and Gigi’s Angels’ Yho Villavicencio, meanwhile, showed the most improvement from last season, raising their averages by 21.53 and 12.35 pins, respectively, to win the most improved bowler plums.

In special awards, Scrambled Eggs’ Rusty Musca and Destroyer’s Nick Gutierrez shared the high game scratch with their identical score of 267, while Cal won the ladies division with her 235.

Gutierrez won anew in the high game with handicap (289), followed by SBC/J’s Restaurant’s Dong Eparwa (286). Cal again topped the ladies with her 258.

High series scratch belonged to Talavera with his 697 with second place going to Musca and his 673. Cal’s 618 won the women’s.

Jorge Soledad of champion PTI topped the high series with handicap with his 732 with Musca coming in second with his 727. Malou Cabigao prevented a Cal sweep by topping the category for women with her 693.

In the team awards, SBC/J’s Restaurant won three of four categories—high game scratch (1,081), high series scratch (3,093), and high series with handicap (3,324). Philippine Consulate General topped the high game with handicap (1,162) to prevent a SBC/J’s Restaurant’s sweep.
